♦ Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] ellipsisms for the Christmas card! :D

♦ I've been watching Angel From Hell today. I have 3 episodes left. It's such a cute show. ♥

♦ I'm aiming to finish Scarlet (The Lunar Chronicles, #2) by Marissa Meyer by the year's end. I'm nearly half finished, so it should be doable.

♦ I have one more 3 sentence fic to write. Will watch more Killjoys first; I didn't get to watch any while away for the week.

♦ This evening and tomorrow, I have writing to organise and word counts to record for [livejournal.com profile] getyourwordsout.

♦ Before the 1st, we have Christmas decorations to take down. And the yard needs mowing (Zach started today, but ran out of fuel).

I'm considering doing a "books of 2016" post: a list of books I read, along with 1-3 sentences of my thoughts. Might be too lazy for it, though. Probably too lazy. Yeah, screw that. Too lazy.

♦ I have to update my lists of evil + masterlist - probably on the 31st.

♦ Will tag this entry later, when tags and such are working properly again.

LJ issues

Right now, I can't select the security option for posts (private, public, f'locked). There's just a grey question mark next to the security option. The usual drop down menu is not showing up.

lj-spoiler cuts aren't working for me right now either - on my own journal and others.

And from the "make a post" page, I can't select a userpic. The drop down menu won't open.

Oh, and tags and mood and so on won't autofill as they usually do. AND there's no option at the side of the "tags" to select from my tag list.

Additionally, when I go to reply to comments on my journal, the comments won't display on the page, meaning I can't a) read them, or b) reply to them. (I am still getting notifications, though! So far.)

Anyone else having these issues?

(LJ support has been contacted - several times, as I discovered each issue.)

So, we got home from Zach's parent's place last night (via Smoky Woodfired Pizza; their Surf and Turf pizza is pretty amazing). Read more... )

I posted some photos on instagram. And yeah. Think I'll leave this post about here; I think it summarises well enough.

Before I go, *waves*. And I'm going to pick up flisting from today (though I have saved the LJ notifs from our break and might skim some of those too, depending on time and end of year things I still need to do). How've you all been?

Not sure when to use "which" and when to use "that"?

Check out this article.

Recently, Axton has started to sleep underneath his bed. Like this:

This morning, Zach's alarm for work didn't go off and he was running late. In his rush, he knocked over Axton's water bowl (the silver bowl in the photo). Water splooshed out and very quickly approached where Axton lay.

Axton shifted. He pretty much picked up the bed on his back, moved away from the water, and lay back down.

The water kept approaching, quickly, silently. Axton, without lifting his head, watched it from the corner of his eyes. Big, wide eyes. Occasionally, his eyes darted back to me and Zach as we watched and smirked slightly (we are bad people).

The water didn't stop. It was nearly at Axton's nose. He shifted a paw, and smeared a line of water across the concrete. Did it stop the water? Nope. The water continued on its path, and then moved faster when it hit the water smear he'd created.

So, Axton decided maybe he'd try drinking it. Surely that would work. He licked at the water, tried to keep up with its flow. Alas, it moved too fast.

At this point, Zach decided he should head off for work, so he headed for the front door, and I followed to say bye. A moment or two later, there was the familiar screech of Axton's bed scraping along the concrete as he quickly climbed out, and then a puppy padded up behind me.

He was sad that Zach left. Also, he didn't return to his bed, oddly enough. He's lying by the front door now, waiting.

Here are a few bonus photos:
