Yes! Exactly. It's bad enough in the case of tv where you know that (barring writer's strikes....) the storyline will eventually be finished.
With fic it's worse. I can understand why a lot of people don't read WIP's, just because you never know.

I've had this weird cough all week, it's all down in my chest so it's the really deep kind that hurt when you cough. I had a bit of food poisoning last sunday, mom thinks I ended up with something in my lungs. She's spent the week looking at me oddly and saying she thinks I have walking pneumonia. It's going away now, and it doesn't hurt much to inhale anymore, so I'm not going to a doctor..
