Some book recs:
-The Vorkosigan Saga, by Louis McMaster Bujold. I swear, these books are like catnip. One thing: I suggest skipping the prequels,
Shards of Honor
and
Barrayar
, until after you've gotten into the series.

A Planet Called Treason
, by Orson Scott Card.
-Anything by David Sedaris. That man is a genius.
