I'm a bit of a music nerd, actually. 5. Currently listening/the last thing you listened to: Right now, checking out John Legend's new album. It's awesome! 6. Do you read my journal?: Yes! You're on my flist:) 7. If yes, what makes it especially good or bad?: Good! It's all good:) I've been LOVING all the Bones ficlets lately...I'm totally into Bones, and I haven't friended too many other folks are as well. And you're doing NaNo, which is totally awesome to read and share the flailing (who's completely under goal? oh right ME!). 8. An interesting fact about you: Um...interesting...hmm...I guess being a musician is pretty interesting:) I play just about everything, I write and perform, and I teach. I love music! 9. Are you in love/do you have a crush at the moment?: Ooh, Just Say No to the love game. That's my philosophy. 10. Favourite place to spend time: I love being in the library. Reading, studying, meeting friends or classmates, I love being surrounded by that many books. 11. Favourite lyric: poetry is no place for a heart that's a whore 12. The best time of the year: Fall. Before the serious cold comes, when it's about 60/65 degrees F and the sun is out and the trees are turning colors. Something about the smell of woodsmoke and the crispness of the air that makes everything seem homey and good.
RECOMMEND 1. A film: Hm. Well, I just saw 'The Prestige' and it was pretty amazing. As far as my 'all time favorite' recommendation, it's a spanish film called 'Amores Perros'. Beautiful, heartbreaking, painful film about life and love and death. Plus, there's a beautiful lead actor. 2. A book: 'A People's History of the United States' by Howard Zinn. Granted, I'm being a bit ethnocentric (what with US history and all) but it's a book about the history that was never written...things that happened that would be better 'forgotten' by the winners of battle. Probably the best book I've ever read. 3. A band, a song, or album: Oh, I forget how much I love jazz. I was listening to Miles Davis the other day and remembered why life is such a beautiful thing. I highly recommend him and John Coltrane (of course).
PLUS 1. One thing you like about me: I like your fandom love! I enjoy reading all of your fic:) 2. Two things you like about yourself: Um, I don't know. I'm very passionate about the things I believe in, and the foremost of those is social activism. Number two...I like to meet people. On the street, in class, in a restaurant, I just like talking to people and learning about different life experiences. I think we don't talk anymore, that people are very isolated and that's part of why we're losing the idea of commonality and community. 3.
