I always think it's interesting when their positions get shifted - when Inara does a thieving job or gets injured in some battle, because in my head (and your fic), Mal obviously NEVER takes it well! And for some reason I just love him being afraid/distraught over someone else getting injured - ESPECIALLY Inara!!!!! I'm an angst-whore. XD But this was perfect!
