Just watched Behemoth and Triassic Attack with Zach while eating one of the most awesome meals I've had in awhile (quiche, chips and greek salad) and caramel chocolate eggs and cheap wine. Awesome way to spend a night. :)

There was some very good pacing in Behemoth but it felt like it was trying to build things up for too long considering how few explosions and such were required to destroy the "monster" in the end. By about midway through most of the female characters were quite whiny and hard to watch, but they did also have some redeeming moments. Kind of. Great casting, that said, though mostly for the lead and his father (Ed Quinn and William B Davis). The use of carbon dioxide as a plot point was great too. Gave the movie a bit more conflict.

Triassic Attack was interesting. There were some moments where I would have thought the people would have reacted more toward the whole "oh yeah, and now there are dinosaurs (well, their bones, anyway) assembled and CHASING PEOPLE AND KILLING THEM".. They seemed very much worried at the danger, but not as much at the actual fact that they were dinosaurs. Even so, it had more action and destruction, which was nice after Behemoth's slow burn and anti-climatic ending. Also, the dog didn't die. The dog not dying is definitely something that makes me appreciate the movie a bit more.

Generally, okay characters; none really stood out in either movie though. Plots were as you would expect from B grade type movies. Some minor flaws and the storylines didn't feel as tight as they could have been. BUT definitely an entertaining and amusing watch if you want something not to be taken too seriously.

Isn't Ed Quinn from Eureka? Or am I confusing him with someone else...

hhhmm sounds like a good night, good food and movies that don't require any thinking.

Was the food homemade or bought?

Yep, pretty much exactly that.

Bought food this time. Next time might go for homemade though.
