Tiny lights glitter on strands of wire that are entangled in the branches of the Christmas tree. Gold and silver tinsel hangs loosely around them. Baubles dangle from the leafy green branches.
Sam smiles and takes a step forwards to place the star on top.
She feels Cam’s presence beside her immediately.
“You know, that’s one damn fine tree,” he announces.
Her smile widens. “Yup.”
“Even better? The mistletoe above it.”
Her heart skips a beat. She chances a look upwards.
Mistletoe.
She shoots him a sidelong glance and groans.
He planned that!
A smirk.
“Okay, fine. Kiss me already!”
