Long-term Beta

Since I've been asking for beta help so often lately, it makes sense that I should look into getting a long-term beta. Would anyone be interested in that? (If not, I could stick with the ask-as-I-write thing that I've been doing already, but I thought I'd ask.)

Anyway, it would be for Stargate (mostly SG-1, but with a little SGA tossed in on occasion) and most likely for a combination of characters and ships. I've found that most of the fics that I get beta-d are returned with only a few corrections (if any), so there shouldn't be much work. It's pretty much just a quick read before I post to make sure I haven't stuffed up anywhere. If you know Firefly, that's a bonus.

Any help with that would be really, really great!

In the meantime, I have a Jonas-centric fic that I'm a little unsure about. Anyone want to read it over quickly for me please? It may, kinda give the suggestion that Daniel has a smutty mind. And that Jonas does, too. (It’s not slash though!) And it's only 335 words. So...comment with your email if you're interested. Thanks!

I've had about 4 beta offers so I think I'll probably alternate between each of you for awhile. (That way, we can see how it goes and who still wants to put up with me after a few weeks of it, if that makes sense.)

Good luck with your search! The best thing I've ever had is my long-term beta (who is also one of my best friends now). I still need back-ups every now and then when she's swamped or on holiday, but if you can find one, it really solves a lot of your stress problems regarding fic.

Thanks! I've had an ongoing beta before for Firefly and yes, it's a great way to make good friends and reduce fic-related stress. I should really use betas more often! I've had 4 offers now for the Stargate one, so I think I'm set with that. =)

And I always have my flist for back-up beta-ing if I need it. My flist is awesome like that! *hugs* I normally get a beta offer within 10 minutes of posting that I need one. Bestest flist ever!

I'm not desperate for Firefly betaing at the moment. =)

I've seen four eps that I barely remember. *g* Haven't seen the rest because... I haven't got the DVDs? Actually, I saw the DVDs the other day at sanity for $30 and almost bought them. Then I decided that, really, I'd been doing enough impulse spending. *g*

Hey, I'd be happy to beta for you long-term. I'm good with the grammar and spelling aspect of things (not that you seem to have much of a problem with those things anyway!), and I've got a pretty quick turn around time. Plus, I'm well-versed in all three of your main fandoms.

I've gotta say though, being well-versed in all 3 of my main fandoms (I'm assuming you mean Firefly, SG-1 and SGA) is a definite plus! And you know Jake 2.0 which I've been intending for ages to write for! (Ooh, and loads more of my fandoms on your profile page, too! X Files. Farscape. House. Bones. NCIS. etc. etc. Nice!) =)

Yeah, those are the three I meant. Jake 2.0 I love, and is on my list of fandoms for which I should write more fic (I've only written one Jake 2.0 fic so far), and yeah - we've got a lot of other shows in common too, which is great.
