Books to read in 2013

There are way too many books I have not yet had a chance to read and have been meaning to for ages. Therefore, I am going to list some that I wish to read in 2013, beginning with those I own and a few Zach owns. Here is the first draft of that list:

Books I own:

Velocity by Dean Koontz
Double Dexter by Jeff Lindsay
Maul by Tricia Sullivan

Books Zach owns:

Consider Phlebas by Iain M Banks
House of Suns by Alastair Reynolds

Books neither of us owns that I want to read:

Shine Light by Marianne de Pierres

As per usual, I'll probably give myself a goal of 25 books for 2013 on the goodreads reading challenge. Or maybe I'll up that to 30 this time..

Since I got the third book of the "The golden Compass"-Trilogy for my birthday, I'm hoping I'll find the time to read those. There's also the "A song of ice and fire"-series sitting on my bookshelf as well as a bunch of other books I have not read yet.
Right now all I've got the time to read are books for university since I'm preparing for my final exams, but I'll be done by March and then hopefully I'll find time to read novels again.

Last night I saw that they will air Elementary on German free-tv in January. I guess I'll give it a try. I also want to watch the final season of Leverage and the fifth season of The Big Bang Theory as well as Terra Nova and Revolution. I might also catch up on Chuck.

Oh, nice. Sounds like a good line-up.
I'm a bit concerned if I do a unit I was intending to do for uni next sem I won't have time for any other books too... so. Hrm... Might drop it (just an elective)..

Leverage. *sigh* I miss it already.
Chuck, I must also catch up on. And probably those others too (though I'm probably not going to bother with Elementary tbh).

I decided to give Elementary a shot mostly because there isn't a lot on tv that's worth watching. So I figured it wouldn’t hurt to try a new show.

Oh, this is an excellent plan! I have so many books in my book case that I didn't get around to this year, I should make a list so I can cross those off before I buy more crap ;).

I set a goal of 50 books this years, and I barely made it (on book 50 right now), but I do admit that 6 of them were short stories. But I didn't count any fic or graphic novels so whatever, I figure it compensates ;). I may do 50 books again this year but since I'm getting another uni degree, I worry I won't have as much time as I did this year. Ah well, we'll wait and see!

:) Definitely. I'd be interested to see what you'll be reading.

I counted 3 short stories (novellas, really) in my 25, and some comics... I don't think it matters so much if they're shorter ones, just as long as you think they count. It's more of a personal challenge, right? So.

I'm concerned about uni getting in the way also, esp. if I take Gothic Lit. Not sure I'll bother with it... might search for an alternate elective. It does sound awesome, but there's just too much to read..

I usually set my challenge to 55 books, but this year it'll be 25 only because I want to read all of the Game of Thrones books I have left to read and they are usually long reads. EEEP! We'll see how I manage.

55 is impressive! Can't blame you for dropping back if you're planning to read longer ones though. Have fun with it!

Well.. I don't really have a life except school and work, so i have lots of time to read.. And I also get about 30 minutes to read in the metro each day so.. EEP!

But yes, I definitely need to drop back if I want to read the Game of Thrones and have an actual doable challenge! I'm excited for it :)

I don't really have a life except for uni (not now though, hols from Nov-end Feb!) and tv and internet and gaming. I have fewer excuses. :P Having time to read on the metro would be good, right?

hah! Well i dont game at all so that's a huge time saver...or to me it seems like it is because my brothers spend hours gaming.. Time that I spend reading! We all use our time differently.

At the moment I'm reading book #44, I wanted to reach 50, but like last year I won't tackle it. So my goal for 2013 50 books again. :P
