Christmas Wishlist Meme 2007

...or whatever holiday you celebrate around that time of year. (And if you don't? Then it is "YAY! Middle of the winter, breaking up those nasty months with happy shiny (possibly fannish) things!" time of year. *G*)
Step One
- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.
Step Two
- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.
You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.
There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
My Wishlist
1. A laptop. Not only would it be awesome for LJ, fic and fandom-y stuff, but it'd be really useful for uni as well. And it'd probably mean less fights with the family. Lotsa win there! ;)
2. DVDs (or even copies of the following)
+ Any season/s of Doctor Who
+ Season 3 of MacGyver
+ Season 3 of NCIS
+ Season 3 of SGA (which I already have copies for - except for "Sunday")
+ Season 3 of Angel
+ Season 4 of Farscape
3. A trade. Since I can't download the Sanctuary webisodes that I've paid for, I'm willing to give my password to someone who can't buy them online themselves and will, in return, copy and send me discs with the webisodes. Anyone up for it??
4. Music. Most of my favs are on my profile, but I'll listen to pretty much anything.
5. Books. Kathy Reichs. Kim Wilkins. Supernatural/thriller/forensic type books. Cheaps ones from second-hand book stores. It's all good.
6. Paid account. Always good.
7. Mal/Inara fic - or even better, an LJ header. I miss my very first OTP!! Any of my other ships would be great too. Sam/Jack. Sam/Cam. Daniel/Vala. Scully/Mulder. Doggett/Reyes. etc.
8. Witchy stuff. Candles. Incense. A pentacle necklace/bracelet. Anything along those lines.
9. Faster internet so I can actually download vids within a decent timeframe instead of having to leave them overnight. Also, I could upload song mixes and so on then!
10. My flist! (which I guess I already have, but I'd like to get to know you guys better. I'm not so good with the personal stuff and always seem to run off to fandom.) Maybe I should post a 'get to know me/get to know you' post sort of thing. *muses*
