I know very little about some of the people on my friends list. Some people I know relatively well. I read your journals, or we have something else in common and we chat occasionally. Some of you I hardly know at all. Perhaps you lurk, for whatever reason. But you friended me and I thank you for your interest in my words.

But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so...they listen in rapture to the love-music of she-turnips." I might feel compelled to mock your musical taste, but I'll certainly remember you.

It would be great if every single person who friended me would do this. Yes, even you people who I know really well. Then post this in your own journal and see what gems of knowledge appear.

Ummm...I want to learn how to knit. My first introduction to fanfic was stumbling upon Jack/Daniel slash when I was 12 or so. I'm scared of fireworks and the dark. Aaaaand...hmmm...I made grilled cheese on toast tonight and screwed it up somehow. XD

I never (ever ever ever) thought I would be into fandom and writing and the like, until the fateful day I saw Serenity in the theatre for the first time. Things changed pretty quickly after that.

I've seen it on the big screen a total of 13 times, ten of which were during its first run in theatres (subsequent times have been Equality Now screenings!) which makes me a certifiable sci-fi dork.

I couldn't be happier about that;)

Wow! That's like 11 more times than I saw it in the cinemas! (I couldn't really afford more than the 2 tickets at the time.) What's the Equality Now screenings thing? I've never heard of it.

When i was three i went to the hospital to see my baby brother. I lent against the car and burnt my leg on the exhaust pipe. Needless to day it hurt like hell, i was three years old hadn't seen mummy in days and was in streams of tears....people at the hospital gave me a band aid *shakes head* i still have a scar from that day...and an annoying little bro to boot :P

As for the meme, my only sibling is a brother, and he is autistic. I love the smell of new books almost as much as I enjoy reading them. I started reading manga my senior year of high school when I asked my friend "what's that you're reading?" and ever since then I've been an incorrigible, fanfic-writing, fangirl-spazzing, unashamed geek ^_^

I've never met my father, he was in prison before I was born and I have no idea if he's been released or still there... I'm shy by nature, although I'm good at hiding it. I have 8 children and I don't think I'm ready to stop just yet :)

8 children? 8?!? That's a lot.

After all the stories I've heard about pregnancy and labour, I'm glad if I'll go through that more then once (the actual plan are 2 kids).
When I hear the word "pregnancy" I always keep thinking about the more then 26 hours my Grandma was in labour and since I take more to her side of the family... *is scared brainless*

And how do you manage 8 kids? When I worked as Au Pair my host family had 3 kids and I felt like that was the limit. But 8 kids... Wow. Respect.

Hehe, well I bought the DVD despite it's badness. Some of the worst movies are just so bad that they're good, if that makes sense. Of course, I have to be in a strange mood to watch, but hey!

I'm having a Battlestar Galactica phase right now.

Shiny. Me? I think I'm getting hooked on Supernatural. I never thought I'd say that. Might have to try watching BSG again sometime. I've never really gotten into it. (The timelines and everything are a little sketchy to me which is probably why. I need subtitles detailing what's going on half the time! =P)

Hm... when I was fifteen, the day before I was meant to start sixth form college, my dog bit my fingernail off and I had to have surgery to sew up my nail bed under local anaesthetic. The hand specialist at the hospital was leaving to work in Cyprus the next day, so I was really lucky to have got someone who really knew what he was doing. :D

What else... I was home-schooled for about four years between eleven and fifteen, I have a four month old half-brother, and I'm going to be spending Sunday having a pretend Christmas with my mum, her friend, my grandparents and uncle. I'm dreading it, frankly. My family fell about big style a couple of years ago, and we're only getting together because my grandmother is in such bad health.

Pretend family Christmas. So much fun. *grimaces* Just the usual Christmas with the family can get pretty rough without the falling out bit. I, myself, tend to like the family Christmas lunches that we do with my dad's side of the family, but with mum's side of the family, things get pretty dull. And visiting the grandma (in the nursing home/while in bad health) can be depressing, yeah. I guess it'll all be over soon enough. *huggles*

I refuse to eat cassava, a Filipino dessert, because last year lots of little kids in the Philippines were poisoned by it.

Well, this likely won't come as a surprise since it's pretty obvious from my journal, but I have a serious obsession with tv (and 'ship) and am finally realizing that it could actually lead to a real career one day. ;)

Aside from that, I work (at Warner Bros. studios in Los Angeles, thus the fun actor-sightings/set-sneaking on stories) and generally spend the rest of my time wondering if it's time to pursue a life.

Oh, and I love hockey. *grins*
