+ I had a job interview this morning for a junior office position at an engineering firm. I don't know how well it went, but I'm not sure if I even want to get the job. It sounds pretty involved (MYOB and stuff with math - which I really despise) but that's not my main concern. Uni is. I find out if I get in on Friday and then there'll be prepping for that to do and when uni time comes around I'd have to quit the job because of the conflicting hours. I don't know if it'd be worth it. I've been seriously considering emailing and saying that I don't want it. *shrugs* I guess I'll find out if I got it tomorrow. I'll worry about it then. (Yeah, it would have been so much easier if the interview/etc had been AFTER the uni dates came out so I wouldn't be in this potential mess!! *sighs*)

+ The new "HD" channels 7 and 10 are really starting to bug me. Why? Because we don't have the set-top-box thingy (whatever it's called) to make it work and since we're having renovations on the house, mum won't buy a new one despite our VCR/DVD player having recently died! *takes a breath* And there are all these ads on the normal TV stations about sci-fi Thursday and Veronica Mars returning and all these shiny series I love...and I can't see them! ANY of them. *cries* Soooo not fair! I'm hoping that some of the new series I've heard about will be sticking to the normal TV so I can keep up, else I'm going to be relying on DVDs for some time. I want HD already, damn it!

+ Episode 5 of Moonlight? ZOMG! *is addicted* Best. Episode. Ever. (Or at least so far...*g*)

+ Burn Notice is starting up on Tuesday. Can't wait. It looks awesome!!

+ I've spent a lot of today downloading music and have a few new favourite artists/songs: Lifehouse (First Time), Dashboard Confessional (Stolen), Lene Marlin (Never To Know), Jeff Austin Black (Save Us All) and Three Days Grace (Home & Gone Forever). I've got one or two songs from Death Cab For Cutie and Missy Higgins downloaded as well. Pretty damn awesome. (Thanks, multicolor! *huggles*) I ♥ new music! =D

+ And I've saved the best for last: By the end of the week (or maybe by the end of next week), I'll have seasons 1 through to 9 of Friends! Yeah...I may have ordered S4-9 and one of the Harry Potter DVDs last week. *sheepish grin* I had Christmas money ($300 of it was put aside to go towards a laptop and there was extra after that), so it seemed like the thing to do! And since I bought S1-3 before Christmas...yeah. Anyway, there shall be lotsa fangirling over Friends soon (if not in my LJ, in my room in front of my portable dvd player)! *is excited* I'm sooooo setting my alarm for 9:30-10am(ish) so I can stake out the letterbox tomorrow this morning!! XD

BTW, I'm still in need of a beta for a Mick/Beth (Moonlight) and a Cameron/Chase (House MD) fic if anyone's able to do that please...? I probably won't be able to send it out until Friday now (unless you comment before I get offline in the next few mins).

You're not missing much on HD 7. Really. And we cant even get HD 10 here because we're "regional" ... really sucks, because they're showing The Shield ONLY on HD 10 - bastards!

Hmmm...okay then. I know there are a few series on 10 HD that I'd love to see (Veronica Mars & the sci-fi Thursday series), but eh... DVDs will have to do for now. I hate how they've moved some shows across like that. I was watching Journeyman when it first came out on 10 and 3 or 4 eps later, they changed it over. So not fair!! I guess you'd be going for dvds too for The Shield now, huh?

And the regional bit? What's with that?! Stupid TV peoples!! *glares at them* I have no idea if we're regional or not, but for those who aren't...that's so not fair! :(

I guess it depends how far out of the city you are ... or not actually, people down the road from us can get "city" stations. I'm not sure about what it called in QLD but regional ten is called "Southern Cross Ten" in NSW and VIC. If thats what you get then you cant get HDTen. Booo!

And I dunno about buying the DVDs. I mean sure they have them for about $15 in Big W, but generally I dont buy series that I'm not 100% interested in they just take up too much space. I would like to see the rest of it though, I'll have to erm ... borrow it. ;o)

That makes sense. I'll have to ask around and see who has it around here - assuming you can actually get it around here. *crosses fingers* It all sounds like a big new thing to make money though, when you think about it; people having to buy the set-top-boxes, etc. Or maybe I'm just paranoid :P

Borrowing works just as well, especially for those not-so-addictive-but-still-good series. *nods* I hope you can find them somewhere!!

I dont know if its so much a money making thing, since they only just started it in December and most people have had digital plasma/LCD TVs for a while now - I guess it could be a money maker in a sense - but its more of a benefit for people like me who invested $1500 in a LCD HDTV. *hugs it* Though not MUCH of a benefit since I cant get HDTen.

Oh and really, all you have to do to know if you can get it, is turn on your TV and see what your regular Ten Channel is. If you get their ID commercials or regional news updates saying "southern cross Ten" then welcome to my world :oP

The Shield IS kind of addictive. I guess I say its not because I havent seen it in forever thanks to Tens scheduling. Have you seen it? Its a great show. Very gritty. Ha! I think I'm addicted again just talking about it.

Nope, I've never seen The Shield. But it sounds addictive. And I get addicted easily. (see tv list on profile for evidence :P). What's it about? Any actors/actresses I'd know, in it?? :)

The Shield is about a team of corrupt cops ... "The Strike Team" ... they're effective and get the job done, but by their own methods. Their captain was torn between bringing them down or advancing his own political career - he chose the latter. The last I saw, they had a new captain, played by Glenn Close and their ex-captain turned politician was still trying to bring them down. The only actor you may or may not know in it is Michael Chiklis and Glenn Close, because who doesnt know her? She was only in one season though.

I dunno if its your thing or not, its pretty gritty, lots of violence, constant racial slur, drugs, sex and vomit inducing camera movements. LOL.

Ugh! The HD channel ads were driving me nutty too. I looked into getting one of those box things, but figured the tv's about to give up the ghost anyway, so might as well wait and get a HD TV instead. Plus, all I really wanted to see was BSG, and I could just go buy the dvd's. Damn logic!

Awww, that sucks. Although your logic is quite good there. I don't have that myself. The series I want to see (Veronica Mars being one of them) aren't on DVD yet. *wibbles*
