Saturday - my b'day, cont.

Saturday turned out a lot better than my actual birthday. I went out to Enchiladas for dinner with Rebecca, Cate (dierevolutionar) and Elisha (sp?). I had 11 "yes-es" for the original party plan so it wasn't everyone I'd hoped would come, but whatever. It's all good.

Anyway, dinner was nice. I had nachos - which were awesome! (Thanks Cate for buying, btw!! You really didn't have to. *hugs*) We walked down water-front after that for a bit, stopping awhile at a spot I used to visit soooo much when I was younger. My brother and I used to go to my Pops' place every week after school and we'd walk down there. T'was really nice. I've never been down there at night before.

We ended up crashing at Cate's for the night after drinks and the pilot ep of SG-1 (an attempt to convert Rebecca and Elisha to SG-1). There were creepy lights as well when we (Rebecca and I) were trying to sleep. They kept flashing on and off and we were convinced - or at least Rebecca was - that it was the cats. *nod* Evil cats. Heh.

So...yes. My birthday this year wasn't made of completely sucky things. *nod* Saturday definitely made up for the bad that was my actual birthday. :)

On a completely different topic, has anyone seen Dexter? I think southoffebruary has? Maybe? Yeah.. Well, anyway. I got season 1 in the mail today! Eeeeeeeee!! :D

And I finally finished season 3 of SGA last night. Jeeewwwwweeeelll! *big grin* I ♥ Jewel Staite!!

I like Dexter. At least I enjoyed Season 1. I don't have Showtime so I haven't seen Season 2 yet.

I'm watching Season 1 on CBS right now. They've removed all of the swear words, of course, and let me tell you. Doakes not saying some form of 'Fuck' every other word is slightly surreal.

Oh yes. Particularly in the form of one Sargeant Doakes. Although Dexter's sister swears a lot too. If you're sensitive or have sensitive family members, you should beware.

I'll keep that in mind. I'm not too sensitive myself (not that I go around swearing or anything - I really don't), but I think I'll have to keep a eye out for mum when I watch. She'd probably freak if she heard excessive swearing or the like. *nod* Thanks for the warning.

Dexter is the one with the serial killer, yes. It's definitely very interesting. Morbid and creepifying would be my exact thoughts (to rip off Firefly). Brilliant though. Worth checking out. :)

Season 1 for Dexter is awesome. So is season 2. And the books (though different than the show) offer the same kind of spine tingle, though for different reasons.

Dexter is made of awesome. But if your mum is sensitive to violence, swearing and sex then I'd watch it when shes NOT home.

Yup yup. I've now seen eps 1-4 and can totally get that. *nod* Will be watching when mum is not around, definitely. No problem there. I rarely watch anything with her around (at least not on my first watch through - I like quiet then and people tend to comment, her especially).
