xfirefly9xHey guys. I haven't been around in awhile. Don't know if anyone would have noticed, but in any case, my disappearance was not by choice. See under cut for details.
The computer was playing up (kept shutting itself off) so mum sent it to some guy to be "fixed". That was Wednesday last week. It took until tonight - barely 6 hours ago now - to get it back. Aaaand, of course, all but my uni and writing folders (fic and such) have been deleted. Music was saved but in different folders so I have to load everything into iTunes again and redo playlists and so on. I'm extremely pissed about that because I specifically said to the guy that I wanted everything in this one particular folder to be saved and most of it is missing. Lucky I have that much saved, I guess..
What I've lost: hundreds of userpics for LJ, 20+ folders for TV series with pics, fic (not mine - stuff I've saved in word docs to read later), transcripts and such that took me forever to collect, msn convo's I had saved, TAFE stuff I wanted to keep, wicca documents for an online course I signed up for awhile back...the list goes on. Firefox and Opera have also been removed. Apparently they're more likely to be hacked into and so we shouldn't use it. Nevermind that I use those all the time and have grown to dislike IE so damn much. I'm stuck with the damn thing. (At least until I can download Firefox once again which'll take forever on this computer!)
Moving on, in the time that the computer has been getting fixed, I haven't been feeling too well. On the Thursday I had severe abdominal pain and ended up going to the doctors and from there, the hospital in case it was my appendix. Had a blood test, urine test, all that fun stuff. Apart from having an elevated white blood cell count (and PAIN!!), everything was "normal". 2 panadol and a nurofen later, the pain was more or less gone, but in the meantime, I hadn't been drinking or eating anything as the doctor had told me not to. Ended up dehydrated: I had to get a stupid fluid drip in my arm for an hour or two (closer to two) and my arm is now bruised. The bruise measures 11cm x 5cm approx. (Put simply, it's freakin' HUGE!!) Went home rather sick of the hospital. Every day since, I've had a slight pain in my lower stomach area - though nothing as bad as on the Thursday. I just want it over already!
Other random news:
+ Much flailing is going on with uni. With no access to the internet (having had no computer for the past week or so and being 'sick' so I haven't been able to go out anywhere), I'm rather behind on my assignments. My Joss Whedon one is due on Friday. 3 or 4 others next week. *cries*
+ Stargate: The Ark Of Truth = awesomeness!! I finally saw it yesterday.
+ The final list for the Firefly Prompt-A-Thon will be up late. Keep linking fic if you have it. I probably won't be able to get it done for another week or two.
+ I met Jewel Staite and Teryl Rothery at the Brisbane Supanova. Much with the shiny! I gave them each a short fic I wrote. Teryl said (hers) was 'fantastic' and Jewel SHOOK MY HAND!!! *dies of happy*
+ Lots to catch up on. Give me time. I'll get there.
