I HAVE A JOB!!! FINALLY!!!

It's a casual kitchenhand position at Red Rooster. I've got to go and fill out some paperwork tomorrow with mum. *hyperventilates* =D

This means: I'll be able to buy the rest of The X Files DVDs faster now! And I won't have to rely on $8.50 pocketmoney every week (excepting every third week which goes towards internet) to buy stuff! Yay! =D

Yes. $8.50 a week. Pathetic, isn't it!? I guess it's better than $5 which is what mum used to give me a year or two ago. And she only pays up every 5 or 6 weeks too! Never on time!

So yeah, free chicken is looking pretty good! =P

Wow! I remember when I was 7 or 8 and my parents did the deal where each year my pocket money would go up a dollar (ie when I was 7 I got $7 a week, 8 was $8 a week. lol)

But then I hit high school and we started getting something similar to Youth Allowance so it went up to $50 a fortnight. And now that I'm "an adult" I get the whole sum and have to pay my mum instead. lol.

Congrats on the job. But don't go spend crazy and blow your pay. *tut tut* lol.

Aw! That's so different to what I get! I guess it's to be expected though getting not so much with mum being a single parent and all. Eh, whatever. Doesn't matter anymore really.

And thanks! As for spending crazy, I think it'll be likely that I'll be doing that until I've got all the X Files DVDs and then I'll go for saving up after that... =)

$8.50 a week? Seriously? Dude, its none of my business but why havent you been getting a student allowance from Centrelink? I would DIE if thats all the money I got. No shiny dvds, cds, nothing! You wont know what to do with yourself when you're getting real money! So, congrats on the job.

Yeah, seriously! And I normally don't get it on the actual week that it's due. Takes mum about a month to pay up sometimes! And the Youth Allowance type thing that I get goes into my mum's account. So yeah, I'm definitely looking forward to the 'real money'! =D

Yay, congrats sweetie! I wish I could start working again but I'm on leave till Christmas because uni requires me to do intern work and all that. Which isn't getting me any money, argh!
And yay, spending paychecks on DVDs is the best!!

I finished my degree in archaeology last summer (except for that damn thesis but I'm sure I'll finish that eventually), and I'm now doing an extra year in Cultural Studies. So I have to do an internship at a publishing house, festival organizers, record company, acting company... something like that. I think it'll be cool!
