Summary: Is Buffy the one being tested or is her new Watcher?
Notes: Written for 100_situations.

“So, what is this exactly?” Buffy Summers asked her new Watcher, coolly. “Some new test to see how powerful I am with the whole slayer thing going on? Cause if you want to find out if I can fly, I’ll tell you now – I can’t. It must have something to do with the ‘no feathers’ thing. Or – or was there something else wanted to test me for?

“Disease? Mental illness? Suicidal tendencies? Vampirism? Any of the above?” She paused and stared at the weedy man in front of her who was gaping at her, obviously overwhelmed by her outburst. He was dressed in a stuffy plaid suit that, to the Slayer, appeared to be from some other time era way back in the age of the dinosaurs.

As Buffy watched, he reached up to readjust his glasses, wiping them clean with the edge of his coat pocket before placing them back on his nose and gaping over at her some more.

“Um…hello? Watcher-man? You okay there?” Buffy prompted him, deciding that unless she did something to snap him out of his staring trance, they’d be spending an awful long time together doing the equal to zilch, where zilch included gaping and staring and looking at each other strangely. As fun as it sounded, Buffy had plans for the night to meet up with Willow and Xander at the Bronze.

The Watcher finally nodded to her, slowly and unsure of himself. “Yes…uh…tomorrow. I’ll see you here promptly at 8 am.”

“For tests?” Buffy asked derisively.

“For tests,” the Watcher confirmed with a weak nod.

“Okay, then. I’ll see you then.” Buffy flashed him an amused smile and hurried outside, leaving the man to stare at her retreating back. As she disappeared from sight, a question formed in his mind.

Was Buffy the one who was going to be tested or was he?

Yup, it definitely could be that! When I was writing it I didn't have any particular Watcher in mind though, so Wesley could work too maybe.

Hee, it's been ages since I read Buffy-fic, and yours made me want to wipe the dust off my DVDs and watch some random episodes.
I like to think it's Wesley, 'cause Giles was badass. Um, okay, so was Wesley, but not on Buffy. And I'm rambling. And thinking about Scruffy Sexy Wes. Shutting up now.

Seems like the 'dusting off the Angel and Buffy DVDs' is a popular thing right about now! I've been reading peoples comments about doing that on so many sites today! (Okay, maybe only 2, but still!) I've been trying to watch the whole series from the start this year actually too, and had a huge break from several months so I just got back into it last week really. Lots more Buffy fics coming soon!

And you said you were rambling! =P

Anyways, thanks for reading (and reviewing! reviews are shiny!) I'm glad I could bring you back to Buffy watching and um...yeh...Wesley. It could definitely be him! I totally luv when he first comes onto Angel with the whole 'rogue demon hunter' thing going on! He's HI-larious in that! =D

Lol yeah and then Cordy goes 'what's a rogue demon?'! Me and my friend are trying to watch everything all over again, we finished s1 to 3 of Buffy and now we're alternating s4 Buffy and s1 Angel episodes so the crossovers work out. Lots more to do though ;)!
And hee, you say hi-larious! I do that too. Damn you Jayne for brainwashing us ;).

Oh yeah! I forgot she said that! She says the awesome-st things! =D

I'm up to disc 3 of Buffy Season 4, last ep of disc 1 of Angel Season 1 atm. I'll have a problem with the alternating when it comes to Season 2 of Angel. I've only got the first half of that so far!

Maybe the brainwashing thing had something to do with the subliminal message in the fruity oaty bar commericial. Like everytime you see it you become more obsessed and become more Firefly-like or something? =P

Oooo that'll be it! I also think there's subliminal messaging in all of Justin Timberlake's songs, making me think they're sexy in a way I never used to when I was an impressionable teenager ;).

And aw, you'll have plenty of time to buy the second half of s2 by the time you've seen all the other eps! I have to go buy more CSI DVDs, I'm all out of eps to watch :p. Damn this shopaholism!

Welllll... (be careful because I can keep going). Basically it's just a forensics show with a murder that needs solving every week and so on. But, in my opinion, what makes it so good are three things:
- it's fairly gritty, much more so than other shows of its type.
- the style of the show: they use CGI cams and special effects to go 'inside' the bodies, or the microscopes, or the fingerprint boxes... Also, because the audience follows the Crime Scene Investigators, you get a flashback of what they think happened with every bit of evidence they find, and as they find more evidence, the flashbacks change throughout the episode
- the cast. They're very talented, they have this great dialogue together and they all have different personalities. And you get backstory about the characters without it interfering with the cases.

I swear I'm shutting up now. Oh and I forgot to tell you: they're gonna be airing Bones over here starting next week, so I finally get to watch it!
