Uni. So. I failed my second assignment for one of the core units. Didn't read the question right. *bashes head against wall* I'm going to see if I can redo it (doubtful) or get special consideration for it if that's possible, but if not I should be able to pass if I do really well on this last assignment. This next one is worth 55% of the marks, the one I failed and the first assignment (which I got a distinction for/2nd best mark) are worth the remaining 45% so even with failing that one I should be able to pass okay. Will have to put a bit more work into this one and make sure I actually read it properly and don't let my mind wander.

Laptop. Went by a computer place after uni and asked about their fixing laptops/etc. It's about $75 an hour and usually takes a few hours. They won't be available to fix it until the 19th. Mum offered money the other day so I think I'll have to follow her up on that for whatever it costs. Will see. Until then I'm just going to have to continue using it while it's not quite right and hope that it doesn't crash on me in the middle of an assignment or the like.

Other. Crappy mood today. Lots on my mind. I think I'll post a bit of fic now, clear my mind and in an hour or so get into the uni stuff.

awww sorry to hear that. i had earlier problems reading the questions right, so know the feeling. it's not fun especially if the question was something which you knew well enough. anyways i do hope that you can redo the assignment!

Yeah, and it's really annoying because I don't know if it was because I've had a lot on my mind lately (you're new to my flist so I don't expect you'd know about that) or whether it was just me missing the obvious as I do sometimes. Sucky either way I suppose.

Laptop gets really hot to the point where it nearly burns my legs if I sit it on my lap. Then it crashes. I think it's something to do with theh fan but I don't know.. Hopefully it'll hold out and be nothing too serious/expensive!

uh oh! that ain't sound good at all.

as much as i love watching epis & movies on a horizontal position, still i rather keep my laptop on a table, where the fan is not covered anyhow. if i take my laptop into my bed, i make a lil table from the extra board and few baskets *lol*

lol true. That's way cool. I have a rectangular laundry basket next to the bed here. It's rather tall, made of wood. Putting the laptop across it, it has air flow beneath which means less crashing. Tis good.

Now is much better, though tomorrow I'll have to face reality again and get to work on this next lot of assignments. Only 3 weeks of this semester left (I think) so break soon!

Yeah, I did that back in high school. Ended up writing a whole new version. When I did the presentation though, the first one fit better. *fp*

Evil laptop. Maybe you can use a usb flash drive or soemthing similar as back up for the real important stuff?
