Word War?

I just submitted what I've typed of June's writings for getyourwordsout. I'm at 60,370 total for the year, with about 10 more pages to type up.

Is anyone up for a word war?

Doesn't have to be right now. Just let me know if you're interested and we can work out when. I could really use the motivation to get more words out as I've been a bit unfocused lately. Thanks. :)

How's everyone else going with theirs? Or with writing in general?

At the end of June I think I was ~ 82,000, which is good but still really far behind.

I'd take you up on the word war, but I am ridiculously unreliable about these things and I think the time difference will make it difficult. :(

What exactly is a word war?

As for writing... slow on the fanfiction side, but the redraft of the novel is coming well--handwritten, so no word count yet.

People get together on msn/whatever and for a set period of time usually 30 mins, write. After that time is up they exchange word count. It's a motivation thing really.

My writing kind of died back when I was cramming for exams.. and now I have little time/motivation. I need to get back on the ball. I'm just not sure how, lol. And I don't know what a word war is, but if it is what it sounds like(competing to see who can get the most words out?), I'd for sure lose. Most of my stories don't surpass 1,000 words, lol.

Word war: people get together, write for a set period of time, usually 30 mins and compare word count after. It's a motivational thing more than anything. Word count doesn't matter so much as the getting words out. And hey. I usually lose at them so... if you are ever up for it..

Hrm. Well, maybe. The time difference thing isn't exactly in our favor though. You're like 15 hours ahead of me. Or a day ahead and 9 hours behind, lol. But yeah.

Hrm, well in that case it might, lol. I'm the US Central Time Zone. So while it's 2:52 PM Tuesday for me at the moment, it's like what 5:52 AM Wednesday for you, I think. Something like that, lol.

holy cow that's a huge wordcount!! WAY TO GO!! That's...nearly 1000 words a month. I can't do that anymore. It's sad. Good luck! (and I don't know what a word war involves so...I'd love to be enlightened, but don't think I can participate...) ♥

Not as huge as it should be. Had a few days with writing only a few sentences lately. Sucky. 1000 words a month? Daaayum, I wish it was that. ;)
