Is Farscape Australian? I was just told it was... but awhile back someone else told me it wasn't. *is confused* Source providing proof would be amazing. I've only confused myself further looking about, so...

The show is australian/american, it was filmed in Australia for an american network. They filmed out there cos they could have better special effects for a cheaper price. Quite often movies are filmed out there cos the oz's are better with pyrotechnics.

Its an Australian-American production. Somewhat like Saddle Club is filmed mainly in Australia using Canadian actors and their stuff. But Henson company owns the rights now it looks like...

IMDB says Country: Australia | USA [under additional information], so I guess both count? Then again, it says USA | UK for Battlestar, although that was filmed in Vancouver and has nothing to do with the UK. ô.o

I believe there was a UK network that helped pay for series 1 or the mini or something like that (back when it was uncertain whether people would watch BSG). And then the UK got to see it before the US! I think.

It was filmed in Aus - great for tax breaks and also means they can then plunge more money into things like effects. Pretty much all of the guest stars and extras used on the show were also Aussies or Kiwis. And then of course you have Anthony, Gigi, Lani, Virginia, and Claudia herself who are all Australian. Pretty much the only thing American about it is the network, the execs, and Ben.

To repeat what everyone else said, no, its American. It was just filmed here becuase it was cheaper to do so.

Actually I always thought the actual filming part was a bit shoddy... which now I hear it was filmed in Australia makes sense. The rest though.. yeah. Don't think Australia could do something like that. A shame really.

It was filmed over here and it has loads of Australian actors in it - Claudia Black is Australian, as are two other major characters. I don't agree with the above comment that something awesome couldn't be made in Australia - hello, we came up with Hugh Jackman and Heath Ledger. Hee.

I kinda do agree Australia doesn't come out with the best of film & TV. Actors, for sure, but the actual movies/tv... I'm yet to watch anything Australian that I like. *shrug*

Well I know for a fact that it was filmed in Australia, it was mentioned in the commentaries. Most of the actors in it are Australian but it is technically still made for U.S. Television I guess?

Reminds me of Stargate. Still filmed in Canada, most of the people working on the show are Canadian but technically still American. Damn Americans :D I hate that sometimes, a massive amount of sci fi shows are filmed in Canada and has Canadians in it yet Americans get to watch the shows in July and we get to wait to Sept. to watch.
