Grammar and Punctuation - what you need to know

Here’s another perfect example of why punctuation is so important. I found a link to this one on Twitter. It’s called ‘Punctuation saves lives’.

‘Let’s eat Grandpa!’
‘Let’s eat, Grandpa!’

It’s only a comma, but what a difference it makes! And it just goes to show how important grammar and punctuation are in writing.

Punctuation. Disregarded by 98% of people on fanfiction.net. I don't know if it's just because I prefer intelligent fandoms, but the general level of grammar seems to be better on LJ.
If you have trouble with eating all of your grandpa in one go I hear a deep freeze is effective in most cases. ;)

Punctuation should just as much be a requirement for posting stories as a ff.net account is.

Deep freeze? I shall keep that in mind. Not sure he'd fit is the only thing and I'm not too into the idea of hacking up a body.

Ugh, I'm the same way. I can't stand the misuse of YOUR and YOU'RE. It makes me crazy!!!! And when friends of mine consistently screw it up I just want to say "We're 30, it's time to get it together, people!!!!"

YES! And "they're", "there" and "their"! *falls*
Only 21 here, but that's more reason for my friends to know the right words to use! Would have just been in school; they should still have it in their heads. Ehh.

Bad spelling/grammar online always makes me think of Tara though so it's not all bad. ;)
