Supanova 2010
Despite my not so awesome start to the day (see this post), the rest was pretty damn awesome. Mostly. Note form because it's easier. ;)
+ Transport here sucks. There was rail work between our station and one halfway to the city.. and so instead of trains, buses were running. This meant a half hour + delay... and missing James Marsters Q&A session.
+ Took 30 mins to an hour just to get inside the door. The queue bent around the corner and down a very angular street, much further than it's been in the previous years I have been. Standing for that long in the sun? Not nice. But I survived.
+ When I finally got inside, I did a quick run through the main building before figuring out they changed things around from the previous years. The TV stars had an entire other building to themselves! Pretty neat. Lined up to get photo/autograph tokens there. That took forever and a half as well.
+ I would have lined up immediately with the photo/autograph tokens but by the time I got them, Corin Nemec's Q&A was about to start. I filed in behind everyone else, just in time for his talk. A lot of it I couldn't really make out. I was in the back and he wasn't quite angling the microphone right, so.. What I did get was a lot of talk of his upcoming (and past, obviously :P) projects, there was a mention of the streamys and there was the immense hotness of his accent and.. well, him. :P Annoying as hell though? The girl sitting next to me kept playing with her phone. I mean, c'mon! Those things have lights! Distracting much? At one point it started playing some noise too and she clicked off the sound quickly. So rude.
+ Autographs were next. Was lined up for Corin at first but he didn't show up for awhile and the other celebs had small or non-existent queues (except of course for James Marsters who had a huge line for the entire day). Saw Gareth David-Lloyd, barely spoke a word and got all nervous and shaky (shaky I think was due a lot to not having eaten much + the humidity, argh, humidity!). He was really nice though, signed my DVD.. and yep. Saw Mary McDonnell next and was still in my nervous mood.. so again not much was said. She did say though that my hair is beautiful (so not true now that the humidity has been at it lol but it was very sweet of her). ♥
+ Next? Yep, you guessed it. James Marsters! He shook my hand at the start (and at the end of our talk/sign thing :P). So awesome. He's a really great guy. I got a few more words out with him too! Mentioned I was looking forward to his concert and such. And he asked who else had signed my DVD when I handed it over (Amber Benson and Adam Busch from last year). So glad I met him. :D
+ Corin Nemec was next. I barely remember what I said to him/what he said to me. Seriously, I realised today that I have a huuuge crush on him lol. I do recall he says "hello" in the most awesome way ever. And he has a really really cute grin. (What?! It's true!! *nods*) Erm. *cough* Hmm. Anyway. :P
+ Moved to yet another line to get a photo with Corin. This took longer than expected. I actually figured "screw it" a little while into my initial waiting session and went to get food. When I got back from that, I ended up missing Corin in the photo section by about 3 seconds and had to wait another... I don't know how long! Could've been an hour or two... for them to go through more of the celeb photos and get back to him. (That said, I didn't mind waiting so much. I would have been waiting around for awhile anyway for the James Marsters concert at 7pm. And I really did need food at that point.)
+ Saw Karl Urban across the way. I didn't bother getting his autograph (instead choosing a photo with Corin) since I haven't really seen much of him yet. He was really drool-worthy though and at one point wandered out into the room and hugged a little boy. So cute!
+ While continuing this waiting, I met a few people. 1) A guy I met online, seemed nice enough. We talked awhile. 2) Someone I met at a previous Supanova who I have a feeling is on my flist but am too out of it to remember who (remind me?). 3) Luke & Crystal, who finally showed up hours after they planned (took too long getting ready :P ♥).
+ Corin arrived at the photo section again and I got a photo with him. WHEN I STEPPED INTO THE PHOTO AREA HE SAID "HELLO MEREDITH"! HE REMEMBERED MY NAME! ♥ (Hehe.. shouldn't be too excited about that I suppose. Surely he'd need to have a good memory, having lines and all to recall. But still!) I asked about the rings he was wearing.. one was a fraternity(?) ring, unless I misheard and the others were just for fun. Pretty cool rings!
+ Talked more with internet guy. Went to the bathroom. (Heh. I'm including talk of going to the bathroom in a Supanova post. *smirk*) Kinda snuck glances at Corin and James at the booth which was right near the bathrooms. Erm. When I got out, there were more glances.. :P ..and then I saw Luke & Crystal again (they had wandered off for a bit and come back with $80 of soft toy pokemon, hehe!)..
+ Dinner with Luke & Crystal. Just McDonalds, nothing exciting. I actually trashed my chips. And the roll I had was one of those flour-y ones.. ew. We all walked back to the RNA Showgrounds then.. Luke & Crystal got a lift with Craig home and I went in search of the place James Marsters' concert was at.
+ Found Ricky outside the concert venue and we talked a bit until they started letting people inside. I ensured we got seats behind shorter people. (Pet peeve: tall people who sit in front of you in the cinema/in concerts/etc and block the view. Bigger pet peeve: tall people who sit in front of you in the cinema/in concerts/etc after you've taken your seat, which suggests they know exactly what they are doing and don't give a damn.) View was fine in any case. :P
+ The actual concert. One word: EPIC. That about sums it up. In more detail..
- James gave us insights into what inspired him to write some of the songs he performed.
- One such story was how he wrote his first song with gigantic cochroaches around.. and that he once stepped on one and it very literally screamed at him.
- Another was that a certain song (can't remember the title, sorry), he wrote while working on Torchwood.
- He broke the A string (?) playing one song and so had to go out back for a few minutes to fix it before returning for a few more songs. :P
- There was the usual hotness of James, his cheekbones accentuated by the dim lighting, light glimmering off his guitar.. so beautiful.
That about covers it all! I was going to take pics of the autographs and photo with my webcam to add to this post but am rather worn out so instead will leave that for later, along with those baby pics of Eva I promised. *hugs flist*

You've met them all at least. :DDD
I mean, it kind of is boring in a way, Gareth David-Lloyd, barely spoke a word and got all nervous and shaky (shaky I think was due a lot to not having eaten much + the humidity, argh, humidity!). He was really nice though, signed my DVD.. and yep- but still. Very cool.
Go sleep. ;)
PS. Why aren't you a millionaire and then you could fly down here to Melb and have dinner with your crush Corin ♥ this Thursday night? xD

Twas pretty epic. Wouldn't say it was boring at all though I wish I had thought before I went what to say to avoid the not knowing what to say and such. Eh well. Gareth, I've not seen that much of, so I didn't know where to start.
Slept. Til 10:30am. *nods* I'm getting good at these "morning" hours. :)
PS: Sadly I don't really have much of a choice in that at this point.. or I would be a millionaire and going to all the cool conventions and such. *nods* If I had just another $25 spare I coulda gone in again today, but I need that for food, so... *shrug* With luck Corin at very least and James will come visit again.

XP Also, Corin Nemec! Heh, he is epic hotness.

Bigger pet peeve: tall people who sit in front of you in the cinema/in concerts/etc after you've taken your seat, which suggests they know exactly what they are doing and don't give a damn. Sooooo agree. I'm 5'2", which is very short, and I hate taller people who do that. It's very annoying because then you have to switch your seat and yada, yada, yada. Friggin' tall people discriminating against the vertically challenged. XP

James was amazing. Hell, all of them were!
Corin is beyond epic hotness. Hehe. I kinda love him. ♥
Ugh, yeah. Tall people suck. That said, I am tall myself. So. People taller than me suck. :P I had to move over a few seats because someone went and sat in front of me like that at the concert.. so.
