7 reasons why I love my new kindle
Mar. 26th, 2011 09:58 pmI'll likely discover more things to add to this list in future as I use my kindle more and more, but these are my initial thoughts on why my new kindle is awesome.
1. The screen is easy to read; you can change the text size and font to suit you. The screen doesn't get that reflection or glare that most phone/iPod/computer screens do in the sun. Overall it's much better on the eyes.
2. The kindle puts up a decent amount of text onscreen, meaning that it doesn't get irritating having to change the page "so often", and it also gives the illusion that you're getting through the story faster because generally, there is less text per page than a page of a paper novel.
3. A computer or laptop is no longer required to read your eBook collection! My back is much better for this already.
4. Amazon offers free eBooks which require a single click on the site to have it sent directly to your kindle via wireless. Within a minute or less, the book/s arrive on the kindle, ready to read.
5. It's very light and easy to carry around.
6. If you don't know a word in the book you are currently reading, you can move a cursor in front of that word and the dictionary meaning will appear at the top (or bottom, depending on which part of the text the word is in) in a neat little box. For further info you can click on this box and get a more in-depth meaning and origin of the word, etc.
7. It looks shiny. ♥

Date: 2011-03-27 02:15 am (UTC)...but I am a book purist. I prefer the old-fashioned paper books. The feel, the smell...*sigh*
