Screwed Over - Again

It's my 19th birthday on Feb 14. I've been working on plans for a party since the end of last month because I always leave it to the last minute and I wanted to actually plan it properly this year. I had a hard time convincing mum to agree to it - over one hour of talking, in fact, while she was watching some crappy reality tv program in the background. (Despite me being almost 19 and despite her constant critizing and telling me to "grow up", she doesn't want me to grow up and so alcohol at a party? Took awhile to convince her - and that was the least of it. She spent 15 minutes fixating on the fact that "we don't have enough chairs for 11-12 or so people".).

ETA: I now have a back-up plan (inspired by a phone call with my dad - they're renovated their backyard too - great timing, huh? - so we can't do it there). Instead it'll very likely be: Enchilada's for dinner. Hanging out on the beach. Underage friends leaving. Rest going for drinks at a pub or something. Yup. *crosses fingers* Hopefully this plan will stick.
