So...I went out with mum an hour ago to pick up pizza. Just down the street from home, there was some guy standing around, smoking with a couple of other people. I had this sudden image of him blowing up and this is (a basic outline of) the conversation that followed:

Me: Hey, what if someone started putting explosive devices in cigarettes? And they, y'know? Blew people up.
Mum: *raises eyebrow* (long pause) Well, they're already killing themselves with the cigarettes.
Me: They should really do that. Get rid of the smokers.
Mum: (to herself) How many smokers do I know? *thinks*
Me: *amused* You're seriously thinking about it, aren't ya?

It went something along those lines, anyway. With a mention of Firefly and the grenades in the apples added in somewhere.

So what does everyone think? Should cigarette companies insert explosive devices into their cigarettes so people will blow up and reduce the pollution to the atmo with the reduced number of cigarettes being used and the smaller number of smokers who are alive? (Surely if a smoker hears about their friend who is also a smoker being blown up, they would quit)...

EDIT: No offense is intended. This was purely me and my mum joking around...

Um, I'll go with no. My brother smokes, although he's trying to quit, and I think I'd like to keep him around a little longer.

I'm not sure I get the big deal on smoking. If people want to do that to their own bodies, its their choice.

Hey, sorry about that. Didn't mean to offend.

And I agree. If smokers want to smoke, let 'em! Just be nice if they'd do it someplace...away.

Okay, that's all I'm gonna say about it. See? I'm done. *drops idea in garbage*
