Fic: Hard to Get (Alec, Eliot)
Title: Hard To Get
Fandom: Leverage
Characters: Alec, Eliot
Word Count: 415
Rating: G
Summary: Alec and Eliot make a bet on whether a barista likes Alec. 8/2/09.
"Oh, that's a neg, babe! You ain't got nothin' on me!" Alec grinned and shook his head at the blonde waitress. "You thought it'd be that easy, did you now? No, no, no. It's not!"
The blonde rolled her eyes and strutted off behind the counter and through to the hidden area of the establishment. The tip of her white dress was the last thing to disappear from sight; he watched until she was gone. Satisfied, he turned to look out the glass panel in the front of the bar. “See that?” he said. “Wanted me.”
Eliot rolled his eyes and lifted his mug, drinking the remains of its contents. He slammed it down to the table again. “And you just turned her down. Idiot.”
“Hey, no! I didn’t do that! I just said I wasn’t that easy. Playin’ hard to get.”
“Ten bucks says she’s not into you anymore when she gets back out here,” Eliot replied.
Alec frowned and stared into his own empty mug.
“Please tell me you have ten bucks to spare.”
“Not doin’ it.”
“You’re afraid to lose.”
There was the distinguished sound of approaching footsteps amongst the chaos of the bar. Eliot raised an eyebrow at him as if to ask, “Well?”
“Fine. Fine. I’m in.” Alec offered his hand and they shook on it.
Both watched the curtains to the back section impatiently. A man walked out with similar enough looks that he could be the girl’s brother. He began serving up the other end of the bar at once.
“Hey!” Eliot hissed.
The man finished his current order and glanced over. “What’ll it be?”
“Girl back there. Blonde. She comin’ back out?”
“Blonde, hmm?” the man said. His expression read as if he was bored.
Eliot didn’t reply, choosing to stare the man down.
Alec had other ideas. “Girl with the white dress. You look like you could be related. See? We had a thing. And she went out back and-“
“She’s not into you, man,” Eliot interrupted. “Leave it. Bet’s off.”
The man smirked. “Oh, your bet is off all right. She left. Her shift just ended. Now, do you want something or should I go serve someone who’s actually here for a drink?”
Eliot brushed him off and then turned to Alec. “Let’s get out of here.”
“What about the bet?”
“Well, obviously it’s off for now,” Eliot said. “Next time we’re here and the blonde is…”
“To be continued. Ah.” Alec nodded. “I’m in.”

Though Parker and Eliot have that soft spot for kids.
And Parker/Alec... well...
Alec should be devastated the girl was hitting on him exactly when she was off and... free. *grins*
Or maybe this is headed into slash territory. With you I dunno, but my brain is always my brain.
And I'm rambling. I'm sorry. Shutting up now.

♥
Hehe.. Well, judging by the date I wrote this, I was still on the fence about ships. I think I wrote it around first season or so?
:D Ramble away.

Feel free to multi ship someone. I personally think that Dean and Damon are ship whores, they're so pairable. :P and Sam just dosen't care.
Also, I uploaded this Star Trek icon because of you since I believe you maybe the only one who would get it. ;)

Multi-shipping is definitely a thing. I just tend to have solid ships and then if multi-shipping, secondary ships if that makes sense.
Dean and Damon.. Agreeeed. Also, Faith. *nod nod*
Much awesome is in that icon. ♥

I'm a slasher, so I can't help seeing the potential laughs in Eliot/Alec. ^^ I like that they've grown friends over the years, and even though each makes the other shake his head in aggravation, they'd risk their lives for each other and they can count on each other. ^^
Ooh, Faith. Mh. Yeah, but with who (whom? I'm never sure.) I can see Faith/Buffy. And, well, according to S8, so could she... :P
I have this story on a very very distant back burner about Faith (Lehanne) and Tru (Davies) finding out about each other and teaming up and taking the roads in Spike's car (of course). Only to stumble upon Sam and Dean. So, much ass kicking and drooling over cars. :P
Also, a side of end of the world. But, meh... It's like every tuesday.
Now that you've (more or less?) caught up with Spn. Do you agree that, had it been HBO, Dean would be so bi by now? That the more the show drags on, the more he's coming to terms with his 'omg, I have feelings!!'.

Hee. I figured you'd say that. :) Yeah, if I ever write slash fic for Leverage, it'll be Eliot/Alec. *nod nod* It has not escaped my notice..
I've seen Faith paired up with Dean and Sam before, and Damon.. and... wait. Maybe I'm proving your point more than mine. :P
That story must not be left on the back burner. Please?
Not quite caught up.. still finishing s4.

Also, the show is hilarious.
But yeah, totally: balance. It's not Bones. It's Leverage.
Can you see early!Dean/Damon? Cause... the misbehaving alone... XD
I promise I'll try to get back to it. But it can't be soon. :(
I intended on finishing it, so... maybe you'll end up being my cheerleader.
Well, there were no spoilers, then. For the Cas/Dean potential, I mean. From the moment he crowed Dean against the counter and went all 'I pulled out out of Hell, I can throw you back in' and Dean actually... shut up and cowered. I gapped at the screen. Potential!
And it only gets better and better. And boy, does Krike know we think that. :P I think he might be one of the most fandom aware authors out there.

early!Dean/Damon... I think I can see that. XD
Can it be now? ;)
Me, a cheerleader? I'm getting all kinds of weird images from that. :P
Hmm. True. The bits I've seen with Cas, I definitely get the impression that he gets under Dean's skin somewhat.
♥ lol.. yep. Kripke probably is more aware, what with having been on XF and such. Wasn't XF one of the first fandoms or something? *shrug* Not sure on that. Heard it awhile back.
